The Kerala Blasters fans have once again shown why they’re known as the most passionate supporters in Indian football. In their recent match against Bengaluru FC, the “Manjappada” (Yellow Army) proved why their motto “Proud, Loud and Loyal” is more than just words.
The journey to the match itself was remarkable. Fans traveled from all over Kerala to reach Kochi. Some came from Kasargod, spending seven to nine hours on the road or rail , while others took five-hour train rides from Thiruvananthapuram, the southernmost of the state. Since Thursday night, trains across Kerala were filled with fans wearing blue and yellow jerseys, all heading to Kochi for the big game.
By Friday, Kochi city was a sea of yellow and blue – the Blasters’ colors. The stadium was completely full, even though the team hadn’t been playing well lately. Even when Bengaluru FC, who are in great form, scored their third goal to lead 3-1, the Kerala fans kept singing and cheering. Two of the goals came from small mistakes by Blasters players, but this didn’t stop the fans from supporting their team.
What makes these fans special is how they stick with their team no matter what. The Kaloor stadium is never empty, win or lose. While other teams might lose their supporters during tough times, Kerala Blasters fans only grow louder and stronger.
This match perfectly showed what makes Kerala Blasters different from other clubs in India. It’s not just about winning or losing – it’s about thousands of fans who treat their team like family. They cheer when times are good, and cheer even louder when times are tough.
Bengaluru FC may have won the match 3-1, but the real story was in the stands – where thousands of voices reminded everyone that in Kerala, football is more than just a game. It’s a passion that brings people together, creating a bond that no defeat can break and they are indeed, Loud and Loyal.
