Why Didn’t Amad Diallo Play Against Hull City?

Amad Diallo missed Manchester United’s Premier League opener against Hull City after picking up an injury before the match.

Manchester United has started the Premier League’s 2026-27 season by losing its first match. In the first match, United lost to Hull City, who were newly promoted to the Premier League, by two goals to none.

Nobel Mendy and Semi Ajayi, the two defensive players, scored for hull City through setpieces. Manchester United took position games and shots in a great way in the match, but not being able to reach the goal was a setback.

Why didn’t Amad Diallo play against Hull City?

When the first eleven of Manchester United against Hull City came, there was no place for right wing player, Amad Diallo in the squad. It had led to many big discussions on social media.

24-year-old Amad Diallo was a regular presence in Manchester United’s first eleven in the pre-season matches. Instead of the star, Dorgu, Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, Bruno Fernandes were leading the forward line against Hull city.

Before the match against Hull City, Amad Diallo got injured, which is why he was not able to come out and play this match. Manchester United coach Carrick has also clarified that Amad is injured.

Including Amad Diallo, four Manchester United players missed the match against Hull City. Veteran goalkeeper Tom Heaton and center back Matthijs de Ligt are both unavailable, while midfielder Mason Mount has failed a late fitness test after picking up a knock in preseason.
