Antony’s Playing Time Contingent on Performance, Says Ten Hag
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has made it clear that Antony’s inclusion in the Manchester United squad hinges on his performance and attitude in training. The Brazilian winger, a significant investment for the club, has seen limited playing time this season.
Ten Hag emphasized the importance of earning a spot in the team, stating that players must demonstrate their commitment and ability on the training ground. While Antony may have an opportunity to start in the upcoming Carabao Cup match against Barnsley, his selection will depend on his recent efforts.
Despite injury concerns from the Southampton match, Ten Hag confirmed the availability of key defenders Lisandro Martínez, Matthijs de Ligt, and Noussair Mazraoui. However, Luke Shaw remains sidelined due to a calf injury, with no specific timeframe for his return.
Having already secured the Carabao Cup and FA Cup during his tenure at United, Ten Hag stressed the significance of domestic cup competitions. He underscored his intention to approach the Barnsley match with seriousness, even with a challenging Premier League fixture against Crystal Palace on the horizon.
