Arsenal exploring deal for Real Madrid super star

Arsenal are exploring the possibility of signing Vinicius Junior should the Brazil international fail to agree a new contract with Real Madrid, although any move remains at an early stage.

The Premier League champions are assessing several options to strengthen their attacking line ahead of the new season, with Vinicius emerging as one of the standout names under consideration. No formal talks have taken place between the clubs, but the proposal has support throughout Arsenal’s hierarchy, according to The Athletic.

Vinicius has entered the final year of his contract at the Santiago Bernabéu, and negotiations over an extension have yet to produce a breakthrough. That situation has inevitably attracted interest from elsewhere, with Real Madrid facing the prospect of losing one of their biggest stars on a free transfer if fresh terms are not agreed. The Spanish club are also conscious that the Brazilian would be entitled to a substantial loyalty bonus should he remain for the final year of his deal.

Despite the uncertainty surrounding his future, there is no indication that a departure is imminent. Reports in Spain have suggested Vinicius is expected to resume contract discussions with Real Madrid after returning from his summer break, while the club remain hopeful an agreement can still be reached.

The 26-year-old enjoyed another productive campaign despite Real Madrid ending the season without silverware. He scored 22 goals in all competitions and also impressed at the World Cup, finding the net four times for Brazil before their round-of-16 defeat to Norway.

Vinicius has been with Madrid since arriving from Flamengo in 2018 and has established himself as one of the world’s leading wide forwards. Across eight seasons in Spain, he has made 375 appearances, scoring 128 goals and providing 100 assists.

Arsenal’s interest remains exploratory rather than advanced, and whether it develops into a formal pursuit is likely to depend on the outcome of Vinicius’ contract negotiations with Real Madrid over the coming weeks. For now, the Brazilian is one of several attacking options being monitored rather than a deal close to completion.
