Bengaluru FC (BFC) secured a crucial 3-0 victory over Jamshedpur FC in the Indian Super League (ISL), ending their six-game winless streak and reigniting their push for a playoff spot. Alberto Noguera’s brace and a goal from Edgar Mendez propelled BFC to a comfortable win, moving them up to fourth place in the table.
BFC started the match with a clear determination to end their winless run. They created several early chances, with Mendez and Sunil Chhetri both coming close to scoring. Chhetri’s penalty was saved by Jamshedpur goalkeeper Albino Gomes, but Mendez eventually broke the deadlock just before half-time, capitalizing on a defensive error.
Noguera then took center stage, scoring twice in the second half to secure the victory for BFC. His first goal came from a free-kick that caught the Jamshedpur defense off guard, while his second was a well-taken finish after a swift counter-attack.
BFC’s performance was a testament to their attacking prowess and their desire to get back to winning ways. They controlled the game for large spells and created numerous chances, with their three goals a fair reflection of their dominance.
BFC also made a change in goal, with Lalthuammawia Ralte making his first start of the season ahead of Gurpreet Singh Sandhu. Ralte produced a solid display, keeping a clean sheet and contributing to BFC’s victory.
This win moves BFC up to fourth place in the ISL table with 31 points from 20 matches. They are now firmly in contention for a playoff spot and will be hoping to continue their winning ways in the upcoming matches.
