The 2024-25 Indian Super League (ISL) season kicked off with a thrilling 1-1 draw between Kerala Blasters FC and North East United FC at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Guwahati.
Both teams showcased attacking football from the start. Kerala Blasters dominated possession, with Noah Sadaoui, Jesus Jimenez, and Danish Farooq creating numerous chances. However, Farooq missed a crucial opportunity to give Kerala the lead.
North East United took the initiative in the second half, with Ajaraei’s free-kick finding the back of the net to put them ahead. But Kerala responded quickly, with Sadaoui scoring a stunning solo goal to level the match.
The game became even more intense in the closing stages after North East United’s Asheer Akhtar was sent off. Kerala pushed for a winner, but North East United’s defense held firm to ensure a share of the points.
