Brighton Stun Manchester United with Dramatic Late Win

Brighton & Hove Albion delivered a thrilling finish at the Amex Stadium, defeating Manchester United 2-1. The match saw Brighton continue their perfect start to the season, having won their first two games.

Danny Welbeck opened the scoring for Brighton in the 32nd minute, heading home a well-placed cross. Despite a strong second-half performance from Manchester United, with Amad Diallo equalizing in the 60th minute, it was Joao Pedro who secured the victory for Brighton.

In the dying moments of the match, Pedro headed in a decisive goal in the 90+5th minute, leaving the United defense and goalkeeper Andre Onana helpless.

Phil Jones, a former United defender, criticized his old team’s defensive lapses, noting that they failed to mark Pedro properly. Mark Warburton praised Brighton’s attacking efforts, highlighting Pedro’s standout performance.

The result is a setback for Manchester United, who were hoping to build on their season. Brighton, on the other hand, are flying high with their impressive start, showcasing their ability to challenge top teams. At the 2022, Premier League opening against Brighton,  the Ten Hag squad suffered a defeat. 

As the game concluded, Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag was visibly frustrated teon the sidelines, while Brighton’s fans and manager Fabian Hurzeler celebrated their dramatic victory.
