Crystal Palace thrash miserable Man Utd 4-0

Crystal Palace delivered a humiliating 4-0 defeat to Manchester United at Selhurst Park, completing a league double and exposing glaring weaknesses in Erik ten Hag’s side. The home crowd roared as Michael Olise’s opener, followed by goals from Jean-Philippe Mateta, Tyrick Mitchell, and another from Olise, underscored United’s defensive disarray and lack of midfield control.

From the opening whistle, Palace’s intensity overwhelmed a United side that appeared lackluster and disjointed. Their makeshift defensive pairing of Casemiro and Jonny Evans, the 14th centre-back combination used this season, struggled throughout. Palace’s dynamic duo of Eberechi Eze and Olise were given far too much space in midfield, repeatedly orchestrating dangerous attacks.

United’s attack showed flashes of promise, with Casemiro having two goals disallowed for a foul and offside, respectively. However, it was Palace who looked more likely to score, with Odsonne Edouard’s injury-time effort agonizingly striking the upright.

The atmosphere within Selhurst Park was electric, the home crowd’s energy mirroring Palace’s relentless play. In stark contrast, United’s performance seemed to deflate the traveling supporters, their apparent lack of urgency and intensity highlighting deep-rooted problems.
