Gakpo Double Leads Liverpool to Comfortable Victory Over Ipswich

Liverpool maintained their six-point lead at the top of the Premier League with a commanding 4-1 victory over struggling Ipswich Town at Anfield.1 Cody Gakpo scored twice, while Dominik Szoboszlai and Mohamed Salah also found the net as the Reds cruised to a comfortable win.2

Ipswich, who were thrashed 6-0 by Manchester City in their previous match, adopted a defensive approach at Anfield, hoping to frustrate the league leaders. However, their resistance was broken in the 11th minute when Szoboszlai finished off a swift Liverpool attack.

Salah then doubled Liverpool’s lead with a clinical strike, before Gakpo added a third just before half-time.3 The second half was a more subdued affair, but Gakpo added his second with a powerful header to complete the scoring for Liverpool. Ipswich grabbed a late consolation goal through Jacob Greaves, but it did little to dampen Liverpool’s celebrations.

This victory keeps Liverpool firmly on course for their second Premier League title in six years. Their attacking prowess was on full display, with Gakpo and Salah leading the charge. Ipswich, meanwhile, remain in the relegation zone and face an uphill battle to avoid the drop.
