Kane Scores Four as Bayern Thrash Dinamo Zagreb in Champions League

Harry Kane showcased his brilliance once again, scoring four goals in FC Bayern’s 9-2 demolition of Dinamo Zagreb in their Champions League opener. Kane, who scored a hat-trick in Bayern’s Bundesliga match just days prior, netted three penalties and a fourth goal to bring his tally to 53 goals for the club.

The match saw early drama as Bayern had two goals disallowed before a rapid-fire trio of first-half strikes from Kane (pen. 19′), Raphaël Guerreiro (33′), and Michael Olise (38′) put the hosts in command. However, a first-half injury to captain Manuel Neuer caused concern, leading to a brief period of disorganization in the second half. Dinamo capitalized with two quick goals from Bruno Petković (49′) and Takuya Ogiwara (50′).

Bayern soon regained control, though, with Kane scoring again in the 57th minute to make it 4-2. His hat-trick penalty came in the 78th minute, followed by goals from Leroy Sané and Leon Goretzka, completing the 9-2 rout. For Dinamo Zagreb, Petković  (48′) and, T. Ogiwara (50′) scored.

Head coach Vincent Kompany praised the team’s resilience, stating, “We had 11 players working hard until the very end.” Kane, who became the fourth Bayern player to score four goals in a single Champions League match, called it “an incredible night.”
