When the English premier league TV rights are revealed, only Barcelona, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid earned more in the 2017/18 campaign than Huddersfield’s €109.38m in the 2018/19 season.
The Catalan giants were the top earners in Spain with €154m – a lower figure than each of England’s top six clubs, with Liverpool (€172.55m) topping the list.
19 of Premier league clubs also earned a higher sum than Atletico (€110.6m) in another figure to highlight the disparity between the two divisions. Sevilla were the fourth highest earning La Liga side that season but their figure of €74m was insignificant in comparison, while fourth-place Valencia earned just €65.7m.
The statistics once again shows just how much money is in the Premier League, and why there is so much attraction for clubs to reach the Premier League.
