Liverpool are keen on signing Watford attacker Ismaila Sarr and will match the Hornets’ £40million asking price.
Sarr, 22, is at the top of Jurgen Klopp’s summer wishlist and is particularly appealing given his versatility.
He can play either wide or through the middle of the attack, able to cover for each of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah.
His flexibility has seen him move ahead of Adama Traore, the Wolves attacker, in Liverpool’s summer pecking order.
Traore is also thought to be more demanding over playing time – something Sarr is more relaxed about at this stage in his career.
Watford are resigned to losing him after being relegated to the Championship and set the price to Liverpool a month ago.
