Man Utd confident about Long term Rashford contract

Manager Erik ten Hag is confident about Rashford transfer that he will commit to Manchester United for the foreseeable future.

Rashford will enter the final year of his contract in the summer, and if new terms are not negotiated by 2024, he will be free to depart Old Trafford.

However, Ten Hag believes this is doubtful and is optimistic that negotiations will yield a new long-term contract.

“Marcus wants to stay and we want him to stay, so I think we will find each other,” said Ten Hag.

Before Luke Shaw’s contract year expired in April, United announced a new contract with the defender.

Ten Hag says he understands why the club has been unable to reach an agreement with Rashford, who has scored 29 goals this season, but insists he is unconcerned.

“Yes, I know [why], but I don’t talk about the process,” he added.

“Let the process go. Once again, this is not important at the moment for me or Rashy. For him, it is to get more goals this season and he is playing a wonderful season and the team is playing a wonderful season. We have to get into the Champions League and focus on that.”

Rashford might not go to Bournemouth with United on Saturday because he is sick.

He missed the 2-0 win over Wolves because he was hurt. He went back to training this week, but he got sick on Friday and will be evaluated before the Vitality Stadium game.

United needs to win two of their last three games in the Premier League to finish in the top four and qualify for the Champions League next season.
