Atlético Madrid forward Alvaro Morata has arrived in Turin and undergone medical on Tuesday ahead of an expected transfer to Juventus. In a post on social media, Juventus announced the arrival of their likely new signing at the airport.
Juventus, after the veteran striker Gonzalo Higuain left the club for inter Miami last week, has been searching for a forward, welcomed Morata as he landed in Turin. The club posted a series of tweets with the Spanish forward’s moments including the pictures of his medical.
Morata, 27, is set for his second term at Juventus, who won the Italian title twice during a two-season spell in Turin from 2014 to 2016, where he scored 27 goals in 93 games is set to sign a one-year loan deal worth 10 million euros ($11.75 million), according to newspaper Gazzetta Dello Sport.
Morata’s reunion with his former teammate Andrea Pirlo will quench the thirst of Juve’s summer search of a new striker, while they couldn’t complete any deal with both Luiz Suarez and Edin Dzeko who have been linked with the Italian champions earlier.
Morata’s return, after winning two Serie A titles already at Juventus, to his familiar surroundings in his much-travelled career brings more hope in Old Lady’s search for her 10th consecutive title.
Alvaro Morata’s move to Juventus could open a way to Luiz Suarez’s chance to join Atlético Madrid, who has been told he can leave Barcelona by new coach Ronald Koeman.
