The decisive moment came in the 67th minute when Musiala converted Harry Kane’s header across the six-yard box. The goal continued the 21-year-old’s impressive form, marking his fifth goal in four matches across all competitions.
Bayern dominated against a defensive Benfica side, creating several opportunities throughout the match. Kane and Serge Gnabry forced saves from Benfica goalkeeper Anatoliy Trubin in the first half, while substitute Leroy Sane was denied twice after the break.
The victory was crucial for Vincent Kompany’s team following defeats to Aston Villa (1-0) and Barcelona (4-1). The win moves Bayern back into the top 24 places of the League Phase table, currently sitting 17th and level on points with Benfica in 19th.
Despite their European struggles, Bayern have maintained strong domestic form, leading the Bundesliga by three points after winning their last four matches with 16 goals scored and none conceded.
