Odisha FC is completing a big signing ahead of the new season. Odisha FC has acquired Georgian defensive midfielder Giorgi Aburjania.
This was reported by Indian football journalist Marcus Mergulhao. The player will come to India on a one-year contract.
Odisha has acquired the 31-year-old from Jeddah SC, a second division club in Saudi Arabia. Giorgi Aburjania is a player who grew up through Georgian club Metallurgist.
Later, the player played for various clubs in Georgia, as well as for clubs in Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands, Cyprus, and Turkey.
It is worth mentioning here that the player has played for Spanish giants Sevilla FC. The player has spent four seasons with Sevilla’s B team. Along with this, the player has played about 35 matches with Sevilla.
The player, who played for Georgia’s Under-17, 19 and 21 teams, has also been a regular in the national team since 2016. He has played around 39 matches for Georgie. The player’s market value is currently 2.6 crores.
This is Odisha’s sixth signing ahead of the 2026-27 season. Before this, Odisha has already brought Ritwik Das, Edwin Sydney Vanspol, VP Zuhair, Tejas Krishna, foreign player Stephen Issa and Manu Molina to the team.
