Punjab FC have signed Cameroonian defender Patrick Gerard Bahanack ahead of the 2026-27 season of the Indian Super League. The player will join India on a one-year contract.
The player joins Punjab from Cyprus club Ethnikos. The player played 36 matches for Ethnikos last season and showed excellent performance.
Patrick is a player who grew up through the Nkufo academy in Cameroon. From there, he was able to qualify for the B team of French club Stade Reims and later for the main team.
Bahanack later created a successful path in Greece. The player was able to perform impressively for clubs like Ergotelis, Lamia and Niki Volos. The player played a crucial role in Levadiakos winning the Super League 2 title in the 2021-22 season.
The player’s market value is currently 2.2 crores. The 29-year-old, who stands 1.85m tall, is also rumoured to play as a left-back in addition to a centre-back.

This is currently Punjab’s fifth signing ahead of the new season. Punjab have previously acquired Messi Bouli, Samir Zeljkovic, Daniel Ramirez Fernandez and Pablo Renan.
