PSG Secure Kvaratskhelia Signing in €60 Million Deal

Paris Saint-Germain have bolstered their attacking ranks with the signing of highly-rated winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia from Napoli. The 23-year-old Georgian international joins the Ligue 1 champions on a contract until June 2029, with the transfer fee reported to be €60 million plus €10 million in add-ons.

Kvaratskhelia, who was also linked with Liverpool, Manchester United, and Barcelona, becomes PSG’s first signing of the January transfer window. He will provide a significant boost to Luis Enrique’s attacking options as the club aims to secure its fourth consecutive Ligue 1 title.

“It’s a dream to be here,” Kvaratskhelia said upon joining PSG. “I’ve heard a lot of very positive things about Paris Saint-Germain. I feel immense pride in joining.”

Kvaratskhelia joined Napoli from Dinamo Batumi in 2022 and quickly established himself as a key player, playing a crucial role in their Serie A title triumph in his first season.2 He was voted Serie A’s Most Valuable Player in 2022-23 after scoring 12 goals and providing 13 assists in 34 league appearances.

Despite his impressive performances, Kvaratskhelia recently expressed his desire to leave Napoli, with manager Antonio Conte confirming the player’s request for a transfer.

PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi expressed his delight at securing Kvaratskhelia’s signature.

“Khvicha is one of the most exciting players in world football,” Al-Khelaifi said. “A fantastic talent, but also a player who has courage and fights for the team. I know he will achieve all his goals with us. We are delighted to be strengthening our squad.”

Kvaratskhelia could make his PSG debut against Lens on Saturday, adding further firepower to an already formidable attack. His arrival is a significant statement of intent from PSG as they look to maintain their dominance in Ligue 1 and compete for Champions League glory.
