Rampant Brazil dance to the quarterfinals

Stadium 947 witnessed its last match in a magnificent way. Brazil thrashed South Korea by 4-1 in the 6th pre-quarter match. South Korea was confident as they beat Portugal in their last outing in the group stage to advance to pre-quarter.

Brazil was also enthusiastic as their star player Neymar Jr. was playing after he got injured in the group stage match against serbia. Brazil have lost just one of their last 31 games in all competitions when Neymar has started (W26 D4) and are unbeaten in their last 11 such matches (W10 D1).

Match started and in the 7th minute,Vinicius made it 1-0 to Brazil. Raphinha does superb work down the right flank before pulling it back across the goal for Vinicius at the back post. He took a touch, steadied himself and then put the ball into the top right corner of the back of the net. What a goal.

In 12th minute, Richarlison was fouled inside the box and penalty was awarded to Brazil. Neymar Jr. took the penalty. Neymar made it 2-0 with a ice-cold penalty. He rolled his effort into the bottom right corner of the back of the neat with real ease.

In 29th minute, Richarlison scored to make it 3-0 to Brazil. He showed amazing skill to beat his man before passing to Marquinhos, who in turn played the ball to Thiago Silva. He then played through Richarlison, who finished clinically to increase his team’s lead.

Goals were flying like a rain. But it has not been stopped yet. In the 36th minute, Paqueta made it 4-0. Richarlison carried the ball forward from deep before finding Neymar, who in turn played in Vinicius. He then pulled the ball back across the face of goal for the oncoming Paqueta, who finished superbly. Dancing Brazil are a treat to watch.

Fans chanted Brazil, Brazil as they witnessed 4 goals in just 36 minutes. Brazil are the first side to score four goals in the first-half of a World Cup knockout game since Germany against Brazil in the 2014 semi-final. Korea also had some chances in the first half, but couldn’t deliver goals.

In 76th minute, Seung-Ho Paik pulled one back for Korea Republic to make it 4-1. The ball was whipped in from a free-kick and cleared as far as Paik at the edge of the area. He took a touch and unleashed a fine half-volley that arrowed past Alisson and hit the back of the net. A beautiful goal from korean side. After that, both teams got chances, but goals didn’t came their way.

Quite an incredible performance from Brazil. An absolutely dominant first half put the game to bed by the half-time whistle – goals from Vinicius, Neymar, Richarlison and Paqueta ensured a four-goal lead heading into the interval. Korea Republic even managed to score a consolation goal through Seung-Ho Paik. But it was too little, too late.
