Al-Nassr captain Cristiano Ronaldo and Roshn Saudi League (RSL) champions Al-Ittihad were the major winners at the inaugural SPL Fans’ Choice Awards, which were announced on Wednesday.
Ronaldo, who was the league’s top scorer with 25 goals, received two significant accolades from the fans. He was named the 2024-25 Fans’ Player of the Season, an award given to the player with the most Man of the Match awards throughout the campaign, of which Ronaldo earned 15.
The 40-year-old Portuguese superstar also won the Goal of the Season award for his spectacular volley against Al-Riyadh in Matchweek 27, a strike that garnered 19 percent of the total votes.
League champions Al-Ittihad were heavily recognized across several categories. French midfielder N’Golo Kante won the Skill of the Season for a sublime solo run against Al-Khaleej in Matchweek 5, where he evaded multiple defenders before setting up a goal.
Goalkeeper Predrag Rajkovic secured the Save of the Season award for a brilliant stop to deny Al-Hilal’s Malcom during the Saudi Clasico in Matchweek 21, an effort which received 28% of the fan vote.
The club’s supporters were also honoured, winning Tifo of the Season for their impressive “Aura” mosaic displayed during their home match against Al-Nassr in Matchweek 13. To cap off a successful night for the Jeddah club, the Moment of the Season was awarded to the ceremony where Al-Ittihad were officially crowned RSL champions.
