Saudi Pro League documentary debuts on Netflix this November

Netflix is set to premiere “Saudi Pro League: Kickoff,” a six-part documentary series on November 21, providing an inside look at one of football’s most ambitious sporting ventures.

The Whisper-produced series follows five major Saudi clubs – Al Nassr, Al Hilal, Al Ittihad, Al Ahli, and Al Ettifaq – during the 2023-2024 season. Through exclusive footage and interviews, viewers will witness the transformation of a regional competition into an emerging global powerhouse.

The documentary features some of football’s biggest names who have recently joined the league, including Cristiano Ronaldo (Al-Nassr), Neymar (Al-Hilal), and Karim Benzema (Al-Ittihad). Former Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard’s managerial journey with Ettifaq adds another layer to the narrative.

Beyond international stars, the series highlights domestic talent through the experiences of Salem Al-Dawsari (Al-Hilal), Feras Al-Buraikan (Al-Ahli), Talal Haji (Al-Ittihad), and Abdulrahman Ghareeb (Al-Nassr). Their stories reveal how the influx of world-class talent is elevating the standard of Saudi football.

The documentary delves into the challenges and successes faced by clubs and players, exploring changes in team dynamics, training methods, and competitive intensity. It examines the strategic vision driving Saudi Arabia’s football transformation, including the substantial investments attracting elite players to the region.
