Despite City dominating the opening exchanges of the second half, Leicester took the lead against the run of play. Timothy Castagne astagne made a great run forward from the back to collect Youri Tielemans’ throughball. He cut the ball back to the Vardy, who beat Ederson with a clever flick that travelled through the City keeper and into the back of the net.

Five minutes later, the red-hot Vardy had his hat-trick. Eric Garcia barged Vardy in the back and the referee once again pointed to the spot. Vardy dusted himself off and rifled the ball in to the back of the net.

Substitute Liam Delap struck the crossbar with a header from a Benjamin Mendy delivery in the 64th minute. In the 77th minute, Foxes replacement James Maddison curled the ball sublimely past the outstretched hands of Ederson and in to the top right corner.

Nathan Ake pulled a goal back for City in the 84th minute when he powered a header home from a Mahrez corner. However, Tielemans would put the icing on the cake when he scored from the penalty spot after Maddison was pulled back by Mendy in the 88th minute.
