The match was a rollercoaster of emotions, with Dusan Vlahovic twice equalizing for Juventus after Benjamin Sesko had given Leipzig the lead on two occasions.
Juventus‘ night began ominously with early injuries forcing off captain Gleison Bremer and Nicolas Gonzalez. Despite these setbacks, the Italian side showed remarkable resilience.
Leipzig, looking to bounce back from their opening day loss to Atletico Madrid, took the lead on the half-hour mark. Lois Openda set up Sesko, who fired home off the crossbar, continuing his scoring form from the Atletico match.
Vlahovic levelled the score five minutes into the second half, deftly flicking in Andrea Cambiaso’s low cross. This came moments after Teun Koopmeiners had struck the post for Juventus.
The German side regained the lead through Sesko’s penalty in the 65th minute, following a period where they twice hit the woodwork through Openda.
Juventus’ challenge intensified when goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio was sent off for handling the ball outside his area. However, Vlahovic rose to the occasion once more, curling a stunning left-footed shot into the top corner to equalize.
The dramatic comeback was completed by Conceicao, who capped off a brilliant individual run with a fine finish, securing all three points for the visitors.
This victory showcases Juventus’ fighting spirit and tactical flexibility, while Leipzig will rue missed opportunities to secure their first points in this Champions League campaign.
