Chelsea’s move for Lamine Camara has dramatically collapsed after Monaco pulled out of a £47 million agreement for the midfielder shortly after the transfer deadline.
Chelsea had reached a full club-to-club agreement with Monaco, with Camara set to sign a six-year contract. The Senegal international was targeted as the replacement for Enzo Fernández, who completed his £125 million move to Manchester City.
However, Monaco reversed their decision after renegotiating the proposed sale of Folarin Balogun to Everton. Chelsea were informed of the U-turn in writing, leaving the Blues furious after believing the Camara deal was secured.
