Neymar switches boot supplier to Puma

PSG and Brazil superstar Neymar has ended long term association with Nike as he has been unveiled as the latest athlet to switch boot supplier to rivals PUMA. The whatabouts of the deal is yet to be revealed.

The 28-year-old has worn Nike boots for pretty much his entire career but in a letter posted via his official social media accounts on Saturday, he explained that he was inspired to switch to PUMA after growing up watching videos of Pelé, Eusebio, Diego Maradona and Johan Cruyff.

Neymar follows the suit of the likes of Antoine Griezmann, Sergio Agüero and Luis Suárez in wearing PUMA.

Neymar’s last deal with Nike was reportedly an 11-year contract worth a total $105 million. Forbes magazine, which ranks him the world’s seventh highest-paid celebrity, estimates his earnings for this year at $95.5 million, including endorsement deals.
