Toure’s Late Strike Stuns 10-Man Juventus

Stuttgart snatched a dramatic victory over Juventus in Turin, securing their first win of the Champions League group stage thanks to a stoppage-time goal from substitute El Bilal Toure.

The German side, who had endured a frustrating evening, finally found the breakthrough in the second minute of added time when Toure expertly controlled the ball and finished past Mattia Perin to secure a 1-0 win.

Despite the late winner, Stuttgart were deserving of the three points. They had a goal by Deniz Undav controversially disallowed in the first half for handball, and were then awarded a penalty in the 85th minute when Danilo was shown a second yellow card for a high boot on Anthony Rouault.

Juventus goalkeeper Perin produced a superb save to deny Enzo Millot from the spot, but could do nothing to prevent Toure’s late winner.

The victory is Stuttgart’s first in this season’s Champions League, having previously drawn one and lost one of their opening two matches. For Juventus, the defeat ends their perfect start to the campaign and serves as a setback in their quest for European glory.

Stuttgart will now look to build on this momentum when they host Atalanta on November 6, while Juventus face Lille a day earlier.
