Paulo Dybala appears to be finding his rhythm again at AS Roma after a difficult 2025–26 campaign disrupted by injuries. The Argentine forward has started the new season in impressive physical condition and has quickly become an important creative figure in Gian Piero Gasperini’s side.
Although Dybala has yet to score in Serie A this season, his influence has been clear in the build-up play. He has already registered four assists in 253 minutes, with an impressive average FotMob rating of 8.72.
His latest performance against Atalanta underlined that influence. In Roma’s dramatic 2-1 comeback victory, Dybala provided the assist for Matías Soulé’s stoppage-time winner, while also posing a threat throughout the match. He was subsequently given an 8.2 rating by Sofascore.
Gasperini has also praised Dybala’s current physical condition and made it clear that, when the Argentine is fit and enjoying his football, he wants him on the pitch.
After an injury-hit previous season, Dybala’s early performances suggest that the 32-year-old could once again become one of Roma’s most influential players. If he can maintain his fitness, his creativity and experience could prove crucial as Roma compete on multiple fronts this season.
