Manchester United Make Move for Barcelona Star Alejandro Balde
With only a few days left until the end of the transfer window, Manchester United are making a big move for a left-back. According to reports, Manchester United are looking to sign a midfielder and a left-back.
Manchester United have already signed Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos in the midfield this transfer window. In addition to these, Manchester United are in the final stages of preparing to acquire Brighton’s Baleba.
United’s full focus is now on strengthening the left-back position. As part of this, Manchester United have made efforts to acquire Barcelona’s young player Alejandro Balde.
According to a report by football journalist Fabrizio Romano, United have been evaluating the possibility of a transfer to Barcelona and the player’s camp for the past few days. However, Fabrizio has also reported that Balde is happy with Barcelona.
The 22-year-old Balde was a regular in Barcelona’s first eleven last season. He played 42 matches. He then missed 10 games throughout the season due to hamstring and muscle injuries.
Balde’s first-team dreams have been dashed by the recent signing of Portuguese wing-back Joao Cancelo by Barcelona. United are also reportedly interested in Arsenal’s 19-year-old Lewis-Skelly.
Manchester United have been linked with a move for Newcastle United’s Lewis Hall at left-back since the start of the transfer window, but have failed to reach an agreement.
Manchester United currently have Patrick Dorgu, Luke Shaw and Harry Amass as left-backs. Of these, Luke Shaw is the only one who has been able to play as a regular left-back in the team.
Patrick Dorgu is currently being used more for attacking by manager Michael Carrick. There are also rumors that youngster Harry Amass could leave the team. Therefore, Manchester United must bring in a new option at left-back soon.
Summary:- Manchester United are intensifying their search for a new left-back before the transfer window closes. The club have reportedly explored a move for Barcelonaโs Alejandro Balde, although the 22-year-old remains happy at Barcelona. United are also monitoring Arsenalโs Myles Lewis-Skelly and Newcastleโs Lewis Hall, while their current left-back options include Luke Shaw, Patrick Dorgu and Harry Amass.
