Al-Nassr Part Ways with Head Coach Pioli After Nine Months
Al-Nassr have parted company with Italian head coach Stefano Pioli after just nine months in charge, the Saudi Pro League club announced on Wednesday.
The club, captained by Cristiano Ronaldo, confirmed the split on social media but did not provide an official reason for the decision.
“Al-Nassr announce that Mr. Pioli and his staff no longer coach the first team,” the statement read. “We would like to thank Mr. Pioli and his staff for their work last season.”
Pioli, 59, was appointed in September 2024 and guided Al-Nassr to a third-place finish in the Saudi Pro League. His name has recently been linked in media reports with a potential return to Italian Serie A club Fiorentina, a team he previously managed.
The Italian coach is best known for leading AC Milan to the Serie A title in 2022 during a near five-year tenure. Throughout his extensive managerial career, he has also coached several other prominent Italian sides, including Inter Milan, Lazio, and Bologna.
