Arsenal Grind Out Victory in North London Derby
Arsenal edged past Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 in a tense North London derby at the Emirates Stadium to move within four points of Premier League leaders Liverpool. Despite dominating for large spells, the Gunners needed a set-piece and a goalkeeping error to secure a vital victory that keeps their title hopes alive.
Tottenham took a surprise lead against the run of play in the 25th minute when Son Heung-min’s shot deflected off William Saliba and past David Raya. However, Arsenal responded just before half-time through a Dominic Solanke own goal, after Spurs goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky failed to deal with a Declan Rice corner.

Leandro Trossard then put Arsenal ahead moments later with a low shot that squirmed past Kinsky, who should have done better with the effort.
Despite dominating the second half, Arsenal were unable to extend their lead and were almost caught out in the dying moments when Pedro Porro struck the post for Tottenham.
Arsenal’s Familiar Flaws
While the victory was crucial for Arsenal, their performance highlighted some familiar flaws. Despite their dominance, they lacked a clinical edge in front of goal and were reliant on set-pieces and goalkeeping errors to secure the win.
The absence of key attackers Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus continues to be felt, with Arsenal lacking a consistent goalscorer. Manager Mikel Arteta will be hoping to address this issue in the January transfer window if they are to maintain their title challenge.

Kinsky’s Tough Night
Tottenham goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky endured a difficult evening. The 21-year-old, who has impressed since joining from Slavia Prague, was at fault for both of Arsenal’s goals. He failed to deal with Rice’s corner for the first goal and should have saved Trossard’s effort for the second.
Despite his errors, Kinsky showed promise and made several important saves. He is deputizing for the injured Guglielmo Vicario and Fraser Forster, and will be hoping to learn from this experience.
Tottenham’s Struggles
Tottenham offered little attacking threat apart from a brief spell in the first half. Manager Ange Postecoglou attempted to change the game with substitutions at half-time, but to no avail. Spurs will be disappointed with their performance and will need to improve if they are to climb the table. North London Derby
