After having a breakthrough season for LOSC Lille the 22-year old left-footed center back Gabriel Magalhães has chosen Arsenal as his next destination.
The Brazilian center back made 34 appearances for the club last season and impressed major clubs across Europe with the likes of Arsenal, Napoli, Manchester United and a few other clubs interested in the signing of Gabriel, But according to the reports from France, it looks like Gabriel has chosen Arsenal as his preferred destination as the next step in his young career.
Mikel Arteta wants to improve his defense and with the signings of Keiren Teirney and the returning William Saliba who was signed last season the addition of Gabriel would make a perfect set up with 2 tall center backs in the back four with a right foot left foot combination, this could solve Arteta’s defensive issues for the coming years as both the center back signings are young enough to play the next decade as a solid pair or even in a back 3 with David Luiz in the middle of the 3.
A deal looks to be completed next week with Gabriel not wanting to wait long for Napoli and Manchester United to decide whether they want him or not.
It is reported that Arsenal will pay an amount close to €30M and Gabriel will sign a 5-year contract until 2025 soon.

A source close to the player confirmed his heart is set on joining Mikel Arteta’s FA Cup winners, saying: “It is Gabriel’s dream to play in the Premier League – for Arsenal.”
Should Gabriel complete his move, his Premier League debut could come against Fulham.
