Bayern Munich pre-season fixtures and 2026 summer schedule

Bayern Munich are back in training as Vincent Kompany prepares his side for the defence of both the Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal titles during the 2026-27 campaign.

The German champions returned to Säbener Straße on 20 July, with World Cup participants gradually rejoining the squad after their summer break. Bayern’s preparations include a training camp at Tegernsee and the club’s annual Audi Summer Tour, which this year takes them to South Korea and Hong Kong before competitive action begins.

Pre-season is already underway for Bayern. Kompany’s side opened their summer programme with a 2-1 defeat to SV Wehen Wiesbaden on 25 July, where a youthful squad received valuable minutes. Tom Bischof scored Bayern’s only goal from the penalty spot, while several academy players featured as the club eased its senior internationals back into action. Bayern will also face local side FC Rottach-Egern at the end of their training camp before flying to Asia.

The overseas tour begins with an Audi Football Summit against Jeju SK in South Korea before Bayern travel to Hong Kong to face Aston Villa. The club then return to Munich to host RB Leipzig in the Telekom Cup, their final warm-up fixture before taking on Borussia Dortmund in the Franz Beckenbauer Supercup.

Bayern’s Bundesliga title defence begins at home to VfB Stuttgart on 28 August, one week after the Supercup. Their DFB-Pokal first-round tie has been postponed until early September because of their participation in the season-opening showpiece.

Bayern’s preparations combine local fixtures with an overseas tour, giving Kompany the opportunity to integrate returning World Cup stars before competitive football resumes. Matches against Aston Villa and RB Leipzig should provide the toughest examinations as the Bundesliga champions build towards another demanding domestic and European campaign.
