Cristiano Ronaldo issued an apology to fans after Al Nassr’s Saudi Pro League match against Al Wehda was delayed by an hour due to traffic congestion. The Portuguese star, who later scored and won a penalty in Al Nassr’s 2-0 victory, acknowledged the inconvenience caused by the late arrival of the team bus, which reached the stadium just nine minutes before the originally scheduled kickoff.  Ronaldo Apologizes to the fans became sensation.

“It was a tough game. The first half was difficult because we did a journey three hours in the bus because of traffic and the roads were closed,” Ronaldo told SSC sports. “I want to apologise on behalf of Al Nassr for starting the game late. This is should not happen again. Sorry.”

Despite the disrupted preparation, Al Nassr secured a crucial win, bouncing back from a recent defeat to Al Ettifaq. Ronaldo praised his teammates’ response: “[The comeback] should be like that. This is Al Nassr we have to react … We have to continue to win and let’s see what’s going to happen.”

Ronaldo opened the scoring and then won a penalty, which he allowed teammate Sadio Mané to take. “We started not very good, but in second half we were a little bet better. We fixed our issues and we scored two goals so we are happy,” Ronaldo reflected.

The 40-year-old emphasized the team’s focus on both the Saudi Pro League and the upcoming AFC Champions League Elite, where they face Esteghlal Tehran in the last 16 on Monday. “Game-by-game, we have to build again the confidence … We have to do it again we have to win, win, win and let’s see what’s going to happen,” he stated.

Ronaldo currently leads the Saudi Pro League scoring charts with 17 goals, one ahead of former Real Madrid teammate Karim Benzema, who now plays for Al Ittihad. The victory keeps Al Nassr in contention for the league title, while also preparing them for their continental challenge.
