Cristiano Ronaldo has expressed his desire to win more trophies as he marks two years with Saudi Pro League club Al Nassr. The Portuguese forward, who turns 40 next month, reflected on his time in Saudi Arabia and his ambitions for the future in an interview with the league’s media channel.

“I’m happy and my family is happy. We started a new life in this beautiful country. Life is good, football is good,” Cristiano Ronaldo said. “In terms of individual and collective, we are still there; we are still improving.”

Since joining Al Nassr in January 2023 after leaving Manchester United, Ronaldo has been a prolific scorer, netting 74 goals in 83 appearances. He also holds the record for most goals in a single Saudi Pro League season, with 35 goals in the 2023-24 campaign.

Ronaldo believes his move to Saudi Arabia has helped elevate the profile of the league and attract other top players. “For me, it is an honour that the league is growing and many star players are coming to make the league even better and more competitive,” he said.

Looking ahead, Ronaldo is determined to help Al Nassr win more silverware. He already has one trophy to his name, the Arab Club Champions Cup in 2023, but he is hungry for more.

“You know, when you win titles, things come easier, and to have the privilege to win in my first year here my first trophy was amazing,” Ronaldo said. “But I want more. I will continue to push and help my team Al Nassr to win titles. I believe that this year will be a good year for Al Nassr.”

Al Nassr currently sit fourth in the Saudi Pro League, 11 points behind leaders Al Ittihad. Ronaldo acknowledges the challenge posed by teams like Al Ittihad and Al Hilal, but remains confident in his team’s ability to compete.

“It’s hard to compete with teams like Al Hilal and Al Ittihad, but we are still there, still pushing and fighting,” he said. “Football is like that; you have good moments and bad moments but, for me, the most important thing is to be professional, to push hard, respect the club, respect your contract and believe that things will change — for Al Nassr to try to win more titles.”

Ronaldo also expressed his desire to win the AFC Champions League with Al Nassr, highlighting his ambition to achieve success on both the domestic and continental stage. He remains a driven and ambitious player, determined to leave a lasting legacy in Saudi Arabian football.
