Harry Kane makes Bundesliga history as Bayern Munich thrash Union Berlin 7-0

Harry Kane became the fastest player to reach 100 Bundesliga goals as Bayern Munich produced a dominant 7-0 victory over Union Berlin at the Allianz Arena.

The England captain reached the landmark with a first-half penalty in the 39th minute, taking his tally to 100 Bundesliga goals in just 98 appearances — 31 games quicker than the previous record holder Dieter Müller.

Kane then added his 101st Bundesliga goal early in the second half, heading in Michael Olise’s cross in the 54th minute.

Bayern run riot at Allianz Arena

Jamal Musiala opened the scoring in the 18th minute with a superb strike from 20 yards after a strong run by Alphonso Davies.

Kane doubled Bayern’s advantage from the penalty spot after Olise was brought down inside the area by Tom Rothe.

Olise then got on the scoresheet himself just two minutes before half-time, cutting inside and curling a left-footed effort into the net to send Bayern into the break 3-0 ahead.

The second half brought even more punishment for Union.

Kane headed home Olise’s cross nine minutes after the restart, before summer signing Ismael Saibari scored his first Bayern goal in the 70th minute.

Olise then completed a remarkable hat-trick, scoring twice in three minutes. His second came after rounding goalkeeper Frederik Ronnow, while his third was a spectacular long-range effort to complete the 7-0 rout.

Kane continues remarkable Bayern record

The 33-year-old has now scored 101 Bundesliga goals in 98 matches, while his overall Bayern record stands at 152 goals in 154 appearances in all competitions since joining the club in 2023.

Kane scored 61 goals in all competitions last season and has now netted six times in seven matches this campaign.

The striker’s contract expires at the end of the season, although Kane said talks over a new deal are continuing.

“I’m extremely happy here,” Kane said. “The talks are ongoing and they’ll be ongoing for the near future.”

Bayern remain unbeaten at the start of the season, while Kane’s record-breaking night further strengthens his standing among the leading contenders for the Ballon d’Or.
