Ismael Díaz scored a historic first-half hat-trick to lead Panama to a commanding 4-1 victory over Jamaica in their final Group C match of the CONCACAF Gold Cup on Tuesday at Q2 Stadium.

The win ensures Panama finishes the group stage with a perfect 3-0-0 record, topping the group and setting up a quarter-final clash with the runner-up from Group B.

Díaz began his remarkable performance in the fourth minute, firing a left-footed shot from outside the area to give Panama an early lead. He struck again in the 17th minute, this time with a left-footed strike from the left side of the box.

Jamaica’s Amari’i Bell pulled a goal back in the 27th minute, heading in from a Dexter Lembikisa cross. However, Díaz restored Panama’s two-goal advantage from the penalty spot in the 45th minute, confidently converting to the bottom right corner to seal his hat-trick.

With his performance, Díaz became the first Panamanian player in Gold Cup history to score three goals in the first half of a match, and only the seventh player from any nation to achieve the feat in the tournament’s history.

Tomás Rodríguez added a fourth goal for Panama in the 89th minute to cap off a dominant performance from “Los Canaleros.”

Jamaica concludes its 2025 Gold Cup campaign in third place in the group with three points (1-0-2 record) and has been eliminated from the tournament.
