Liverpool are preparing to approach Paris Saint-Germain with an opening offer for Bradley Barcola, having already held preliminary discussions with the winger’s representatives. Sky Sports News reports the Reds are now ready to formalise their interest with the French club directly.
Strengthening the wide areas has been a priority since Mohamed Salah’s departure, and Barcola has long been admired by Liverpool’s recruitment staff. The 23-year-old is entering the final two years of his contract and has told PSG he has no intention of extending his stay.
Frustration over limited involvement in the club’s biggest matches has fed the uncertainty around his future. He was an unused substitute in both of PSG’s Champions League final wins, with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia established as first choice on the left under Luis Enrique. A move to Liverpool, and the guarantee of regular football, is understood to appeal to him.
PSG’s valuation remains the central obstacle. The club were quoted at around ยฃ145m (โฌ170m) earlier this week, though more recent reporting suggests they could be willing to negotiate closer to ยฃ128.5m (โฌ150m). Liverpool’s opening proposal is expected to fall short of that figure, built around an upfront fee with performance-related add-ons attached to domestic and European success.
Liverpool believe Barcola suits the profile Andoni Iraola wants for his side. His Bournemouth and Rayo Vallecano teams were built around direct, energetic wingers comfortable pressing high and attacking full-backs in one-on-one situations, qualities Barcola has shown consistently for club and country.
He arrives with a strong track record already, having won nine major trophies since joining PSG in 2023, including back-to-back Champions League titles. Arsenal continue to watch the situation but have yet to make a formal approach, leaving Liverpool to test PSG’s resolve as talks move to a club-to-club level before the window closes.
