Former Brazilian footballer Marcelinho Paraiba has embarked on a unique coaching challenge, taking charge of two different clubs simultaneously. Within 24 hours, he was appointed as head coach of both Americano-RJ, a Carioca A2 side, and Nacional de Patos.

“I am here to tell you how happy I am to be in charge of Americano in the Carioca Second Division in 2025,” Marcelinho said. “We’re going in search of our goal to access the elite of Carioca football.”

Marcelinho, 49, has gained considerable coaching experience since retiring as a player. He has previously managed several clubs in Brazil, including Treze, Perilima, Sport-PB, Oeirense-PI, Serra Branca, and Baraunas-RN.

As a player, Marcelinho enjoyed a successful career, playing for clubs like São Paulo, Hertha Berlin, Wolfsburg, Gremio, and Flamengo. He also represented the Brazilian national team.
