Darwin Nunez is the sole player suspended for Matchweek 21.
The Liverpool forward received his fifth yellow card of the season in their 19th fixture, a 2-2 draw with Manchester United. Substituted in during the second half, Nunez was booked for a foul on Matthijs de Ligt. He will miss Liverpool’s trip to Nottingham Forest but will be available for selection again afterward.
Players Returning from Suspension
Seven players have completed their bans ahead of Matchweek 21:
• Jurrien Timber (Arsenal)
• Morgan Rogers (Aston Villa)
• Fabian Schar (Newcastle United)
• Mateus Fernandes (Southampton)
• Rodrigo Bentancur (Tottenham Hotspur)
Aston Villa’s Jhon Duran, serving a three-match suspension for violent conduct in MW18, will complete his ban during the FA Cup third-round match versus West Ham United. He could return for Villa’s clash against Everton on January 15.
Similarly, Wolverhampton’s Matheus Cunha, banned for misconduct following MW16, will miss the FA Cup tie but should return for their encounter with Newcastle.
Who is Close to a Ban?
With the suspension threshold now increased to 10 yellow cards over the first 32 matches, Leicester City’s Boubakary Soumare, on eight bookings, is closest to facing a two-match suspension.
