The Saudi Pro League has released the full fixture schedule for the 2026-27 Roshn Saudi League season, with the new campaign set to begin on 13 August 2026 and conclude on 29 May 2027.
The league’s 18 clubs will contest 306 matches across 34 rounds, with the fixture list finalised on Friday following a scheduling workshop attended by representatives from every club. During the meeting, the Saudi Pro League presented its scheduling methodology and the wider football calendar before inviting clubs to submit requests relating to fixture sequencing ahead of the schedule being approved.
The new calendar has been drawn up against one of the busiest seasons in the league’s history. Eight Roshn Saudi League clubs will compete across four international club competitions, while FIFA international windows, Saudi Arabia’s national team commitments and the country’s hosting of the 2027 AFC Asian Cup have all influenced the scheduling process.
According to the league, only 102 available matchdays were available to accommodate all 306 league fixtures, making fixture planning significantly more challenging than in previous seasons.
To maintain competitive balance, the Saudi Pro League adopted 10 scheduling principles. No club will play more than two consecutive home or away matches, while every team is guaranteed one home fixture and one away fixture across the opening and closing two rounds of the campaign. Clubs will also receive a minimum rest period of two days between competitive matches, regardless of the competition.
Teams were also divided into four competitive tiers based on performances over the previous three seasons, with greater weighting given to the most recent campaign. The system ensures clubs do not face “Level A” opponents in consecutive league rounds.
The top tier consists of Al Nassr, Al Hilal, Al Ahli, Al Qadsiah and Al Ittihad, followed by Al Taawoun, Al Ettifaq, Al Fateh, Al Khaleej and Al Shabab in Level B. NEOM Sports Club, Al Hazem, Al Fayha and Al Kholood make up Level C, while Al Riyadh, Abha, Al Faisaly and Diriyah FC complete Level D.
The opening weekend features several eye-catching fixtures, including Al Hilal vs Al Faisaly, Al Ittihad vs Al Kholood, Al Nassr vs Al Fateh, Al Shabab vs Al Qadsiah and Diriyah vs Al Ahli.
Among the standout fixtures later in the season, Al Ittihad host Al Nassr in Round 5, Al Hilal face Al Ittihad in Round 8, Al Ahli meet Al Nassr in Round 9, Al Nassr host Al Hilal in Round 17, and the return Riyadh derby between Al Hilal and Al Nassr is scheduled for the final round of the campaign.
The Saudi Pro League said the schedule had been designed to balance sporting integrity, competitive fairness, clubs’ participation in multiple competitions, stadium availability and the overall matchday experience for supporters throughout the season.
