Victor Osimhen – Unfolding of a perfect number 9

Proclaimed to be one of the finest in his position, Napoli’s Victor Osimhen is undoubtedly leading the first _Scudetto_ in 33 years for the _Partenopie_ side.

The Nigerian’s prolific goal-scoring rate has made him the hot topic of interest in the summer transfer window. Osimhen himself has claimed that a move to Premier League is a dream of his.

The move for the former Ligue 1 Lille side man has been made by the Italians in the summer of 2020 for an astonishing £70 million, making him the most expensive signing in the club’s history. Netting 21 goals and listing 4 assists in 26 appearances in all competitions this season, Osimhen is pivotal in Napoli’s domination in Serie A.

His ability to score from every angle inside the box and his 6 feet physique endow him with a dominant aerial presence, thus attracting the attention of the wealthiest sides of English football.

It seems that Erik Ten Hag has made bringing Osimhen to the _Theatre of Dreams_ one of his priorities in the upcoming window. Having Wout Weghorst up front is a temporary solution for the Red Devils. In order to hijack the Osimhen deal, Boehly is willing to pay much more than what United is offering. The number 9 curse of the blue side of London could end with the arrival of Victor Osimhen. Graham Potter’s crew is keeping him monitored for the rest of the season.

Apart from English clubs, Ligue 1 giants PSG is the next big name entering the race for the Nigerian striker. After an early champions league exit, PSG sporting advisor Luis Campos is already busy with moves to bring Osimhen to the French capital.

However, it is unsurprising for Napoli that he’s linked with the big money moves. Though Napoli’s president Aurelio de Laurentiis has stated that Osimhen is not for sale, a £100+ million deal is still possible. It is realistic for any European giants to pay top dollar to sign the Nigerian international as Napoli is not willing to sell their champ.
