Leverkusen Hold On for 1-1 Draw Against Bayern Munich
In a big Bundesliga match, Bayer Leverkusen held Bayern Munich to a 1-1 draw at the Allianz Arena on September 28, 2024.
Leverkusen scored first with a goal from Robert Andrich in the 31st minute. But Bayern quickly responded with a powerful equalizer by Aleksander Pavlovic in the 39th minute.
From that moment on, Bayern controlled the game. They had 69% of the ball and made 714 passes, compared to Leverkusen’s 322 passes.
Leverkusen’s coach, Xabi Alonso, praised his team’s hard work. “We had to be disciplined and sacrifice. I’m happy with the point,” Alonso said.
Despite their possession, Bayern struggled to score again. Their best chance came when Serge Gnabry hit the post and then the crossbar in the second half. Though Bayern pushed hard for a win, Leverkusen stayed strong and left with a valuable point from a tough away game by keeping 1-1 draw at the Allianz Arena.
