Mohamed Amoura scored twice as Algeria secured a 3-1 away victory over Botswana in their FIFA World Cup qualifying Group G match on Friday. The win consolidates Algeria’s position at the top of the group with 12 points.

Algeria, under the management of Vladimir Petkovic, dominated much of the match. They took the lead just before halftime through Amine Gouiri, who capped off a solid first-half performance with a goal in the 44th minute.

Amoura doubled Algeria’s advantage in the 52nd minute, scoring with a well-taken shot.

Botswana briefly threatened a comeback when Tebogo Kopelang scored in the 70th minute, reducing the deficit. However, Amoura swiftly restored Algeria’s two-goal cushion, scoring his second of the match in the 74th minute to seal the victory.

The result underlines Algeria’s strength in Group G and their determination to secure a place at the 2026 World Cup. Amoura’s brace highlighted his importance to the team’s attacking threat.
