A spectacular stoppage-time goal from Lalengmawia Ralte (Apuia) propelled Mohun Bagan Super Giant into their third consecutive Indian Super League, ISL final, securing a 2-0 second-leg victory over Jamshedpur FC at a jubilant Salt Lake Stadium on Monday, April 7th. The result overturned a first-leg deficit, giving the Kolkata giants a 3-2 aggregate win.

Trailing 2-1 from the first leg, Mohun Bagan dominated possession throughout but were frustrated for long periods by a resolute Jamshedpur defence, which often featured eight or nine players behind the ball. Jamshedpur goalkeeper Albino Gomes was in fine form, making four crucial saves in the first half to keep the hosts at bay.

The breakthrough came early in the second half. In the 50th minute, Jamshedpur defender Pronay Halder was penalized for handball inside the box. Jason Cummings stepped up and converted the penalty in the 51st minute, leveling the aggregate score at 2-2.

Despite continued pressure from Mohun Bagan, the tie appeared destined for extra time until the fourth minute of second-half stoppage time (90+4′). Apuia unleashed a stunning strike [Note: describe goal if possible – e.g., “from distance,” “curling effort”] that found the net, sparking wild celebrations among the over 50,000 home supporters.

The victory sets up a tantalizing ISL final clash between Mohun Bagan Super Giant and Bengaluru FC, scheduled to be played at the Salt Lake Stadium on April 12th.
