Barcelona put seven past Valencia to end Laliga slump
Barcelona returned to winning ways in La Liga with a resounding 7-1 triumph over Valencia at the Camp Nou. Fermín López starred with two goals and two assists as the Catalan giants ended their four-game winless run in the league.
The hosts were in dominant form from the outset, with Frenkie de Jong opening the scoring in the third minute. Ferran Torres and Raphinha quickly added to Barcelona’s tally, before Lopez scored twice to give them a commanding 5-0 lead at half-time.
Hugo Duro pulled a goal back for Valencia after the break, but further goals from Robert Lewandowski and an own goal from César Tárrega sealed a comprehensive victory for Barcelona.
Lopez’s impressive display highlighted his growing importance to the Barcelona team. The young midfielder showcased his creativity and finishing ability, orchestrating Barcelona’s attack and contributing significantly to their emphatic win.
This victory comes on the back of Barcelona’s thrilling 5-4 win over Benfica in the Champions League, which secured their place in the knockout stages. They have now scored an impressive 107 goals in just 33 games in all competitions this season.
The win moves Barcelona up to third in La Liga, closing the gap on leaders Real Madrid to seven points. Valencia, meanwhile, remain in 19th place and face a battle to avoid relegation.
