Bayern Munich beat Stuttgart to go 11 points clear
Bayern Munich maintained their commanding position at the top of the Bundesliga with a 3-1 comeback victory over VfB Stuttgart on Friday. The win extends Bayern’s lead to 11 points over second-placed Bayer Leverkusen, although they have played one game more.
Stuttgart initially took the lead in the 34th minute through Angelo Stiller. The midfielder unleashed a left-footed shot from the edge of the box that found the top corner, giving the home side a deserved advantage.
Bayern, however, responded just before halftime. Michael Olise capitalized on a defensive lapse, making a perfectly timed run to finish clinically and level the scores in first-half stoppage time.
The defending champions completed the turnaround in the 64th minute. Leon Goretzka displayed sharp anticipation, intercepting a loose pass inside the Stuttgart penalty area before calmly slotting the ball home to give Bayern a 2-1 lead.
Stuttgart’s defensive errors continued to cost them. Just before the final whistle, Josha Vagnoman’s attempted backpass to goalkeeper Alexander Nubel was intercepted by Kingsley Coman, who scored from distance to seal a 3-1 victory for Bayern.
The result solidifies Bayern’s position as firm favorites to secure their 12th consecutive Bundesliga title. Stuttgart, despite their early lead, were ultimately undone by individual mistakes and Bayern’s clinical finishing.
