Juventus ease past AC Milan to climb to top four
Juventus secured a crucial 2-1 victory over AC Milan to move into the Champions League places in Serie A. Second-half goals from Nicolò Zaniolo and Timothy Weah were enough to overcome a stubborn Milan side and lift Juventus to fourth in the table.
Zaniolo broke the deadlock in the 67th minute, firing home from close range after Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan had saved Dusan Vlahovic’s initial effort. Five minutes later, substitute Weah doubled Juventus’ lead, emulating his father, George Weah, who scored for Milan against Juventus 25 years ago.
The win moves Juventus into fourth place with 37 points, two points ahead of fifth-placed Milan. They are now within striking distance of third-placed Atalanta, who host league leaders Napoli later on Sunday.
Napoli, who are on a five-game winning streak, will be looking to extend their lead at the top of the table to seven points.
Bologna Continue Resurgence
In other Serie A action, Bologna continued their impressive form with a 3-1 victory over Monza. Goals from Santiago Castro, Jens Odgaard, and Riccardo Orsolini secured the win for Bologna, who climb to sixth in the table.
Monza, meanwhile, remain rooted to the bottom of the table after suffering their sixth defeat in seven matches.
