Mount hits hat-trick as Chelsea put seven past Norwich

Mason Mount scored a stunning hat-trick as Premier League leaders Chelsea hammered Norwich City at Stamford Bridge.

The hosts went 2-0 ahead inside 18 minutes as England duo Mount and Callum Hudson-Odoi scored their first goals of the season, before Mount set up fellow English man Reece James for a third goal before half-time.

Another English international Ben Chilwell netted the fourth, his goal in the fourth successive game to put the Blues in firm control.

Max Aarons’ own goal and Mount’s late double completed the nightmare for Norwich.

Canaries defender Ben Gibson was sent off for two yellow cards to cap a miserable afternoon for the away side, who remain rooted to the bottom of the table and without a win this season.

The biggest win for Thomas Tuchel as Chelsea coach gives the German plenty to take as he is without strikers Romelu Lukaku or Timo Werner in the side.
