England international Myles Lewis-Skelly has signed a new five-year contract with Arsenal, committing his long-term future to his boyhood club.

The 18-year-old defender enjoyed a breakout season in the 2024-25 campaign, establishing himself as a first-team regular under manager Mikel Arteta and making 39 appearances across all competitions. His previous contract was set to expire in 2026.

“I want to win everything there is to win in the game,” Lewis-Skelly told the official Arsenal website after signing the new deal. “I want to win trophies on the biggest stages whilst being a person that’s always learning and stays grounded, which is so important. I know I’ve taken a lot of experience from the games about the positive moments, the mistakes that I’ve made. I’m definitely more ready now for the next season.”

Lewis-Skelly, who joined Arsenal’s famed Hale End academy as a central midfielder, has excelled in a left-back role with the license to move into midfield since making his senior debut. His impressive performances saw him shortlisted for the PFA Young Player of the Season award.

The youngster’s season included several notable moments, including scoring his first league goal in a 5-1 victory over Manchester City. His form also earned him a senior England call-up, and in March, he became the youngest player to score on their England debut in a 2-0 win against Albania at Wembley.

“I’ve embodied the values of Hale End and come through,” Lewis-Skelly added. “I’ve still got a lot of years ahead of me, so if I can keep staying humble and being a good person, that’s the most important thing to me.”

The contract extension is a significant boost for Arsenal, who finished second in the Premier League last season, as they secure the future of one of their most promising young talents.
