Barca overpower Sevilla by 3-0
Barca continued their unbeaten streak in the La Liga adding a 3-0 victory against Sevilla
A well concerted Barcelona on Monday sunk Andalusian side Sevilla by 3-0 at their home Raman Sanchez-pizjuan. Getting around the early mistakes, Barca managed to continue the winning streak to rise to the second position of the la Liga point table, two points down from the toppers Real Madrid. Some hours earlier Real secured their fourth victory and grabbed all 12 points to rest dominantly in the top.
Lewandowski and Raphinha put on a real show after the early minutes of perplexity at Barcelona divisions. Sevilla almost scored in the fifth minute until the daring right hand from Ter Stegan hailed to deny Ivan Rakitic. The promising spell in Barcelona’s midfield saw the moment of glory in the twenty-first minute. Gavi won back the ball from deep and make Dembele run through the deranged Sevilla defence. Lewandowski lofted the ball after receiving the pass from Dembele but is cleared by Fernando but Raphinha who anticipated in the near post head to goal on the rebound.
15 minutes later, the second goal came in for Barcelona, for the world to watch the striking prowess of Lewandowski. Lewandowski swayed the ball in his chest and volleyed it past Bono to benchmark him in the first half. Kounde and Dembele missed targets following some well-organized moves from Barca’s side just before the end of the first half.
The binding goal of the match came from Eric Garcia who received the ball from Jules Kounde and tapped it home in the 50th minute of the game. A promising attempt from Rakitic towards the goal was again choked by Ter Stegan. Ter Stegan made his night remarkable as he always did against Sevilla by occluding many shots from the hosts. Jules Kounde, in the defence, also made his mark by furnishing an assist and prodigious moments in the backline. Kounde wished his old mates at Sevilla and Rakitic also reminisced his incredible times at Barcelona.
Xavi made no changes in his starting 11 from the last match. Good thing that Barca stays unsullied notwithstanding the radical restructuring of their squad; unending transfer saga and loans. Barca offloaded several of their players recently including the likes of Aubameyang, Sergino Dest, Abde Ezzalzouli, and Martin Braithwaite among others. This in turn allowed Barca to welcome Hector Bellerin and Marcos Alonso who have already joined the squad. Both of them are expected to add more experience and depth to the backline of Barcelona.
